"LET'S GO TO THE MOON [PERMANENTLY]... AND MARS IS NEXT"

Well Newt you certainly do live in your own reality... During the last debate Newt  and Mitt discussed that he wanting a permanent home on the Moon. Nice thought. But really, now. Shouldn't we spend the funds on other less fantastic projects. I don't know, maybe things like education and infrastructure are at least as important as a man standing on Mars. But, Newt. Now? And now there's news that you will be making a major speech on your vision of man's future in space. Really. No big speeches on the 'real' world problems we face. Only topics that make people forget our problems. 

Sure since we aren't spending trillions on Wars [this week] we could be able to afford this. But thanks to a decade of unnecessary wars, we owe so much, I guess only fantasies will be promoted, since reality is something alien in the 'right's mentallity.
The last Bush in the White House also mapped out a Mission to Mars. Again reality had no place in the conversation.

"It should certainly be a priority," said Romney when asked whether, during a time of reduced federal spending, space exploration should be a focus.

"What we have now is a president who does not have a vision or a mission for NASA. As a result of that, there are people on the space coast that are suffering. Florida itself is suffering as a result," he said.

So this is how we end unemployment, we go to Mars. Just call me Buck Rogers.
