SO SUPREME COURT, ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?
Here’s $20 million reasons why you made
a really really bad decision

So you thought you had the right idea, huh? With that decision of yours, didn’t you Supreme Court. To let money help destroy any belief that our system of Government is still on the up-and-up. In a time when our hopes and dreams about our countries’ greatness are seemingly diminishing daily. When what it means to be an American is debated incessantly. You had to throw a huge monkey into the voter’s equation. And I’m sorry, you were wrong.
2010’s landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court on Citizens United has definitely changed the landscape of politics and unfortunately not for the better. This decision, possibly worse then your landmark decision in 2000, of course I am referring to Bush V. Gore. Which changed our country’s future [and possibly helped lead us into a war we never should have be in, in the first place] helped get us where we are today. Thanks to Citizens United and a subsequent court decision, Super PACs can raise unlimited sums, and spend it all advocating directly for or against any candidate, as long as there’s no coordination between the Super PAC and the candidate’s campaign.
Yesterday’s latest ripple effect in the court’s decision, that Casino magnate Sheldon Adelson might hand over $20 million to a “Super PAC” backing Newt Gingrich.  Possibly drove a cold knife into my heart. Just imagining the possible ramifications in their decision was getting me nervous. Even if the story, rumor, or  turns out to be totally erroneous, it perfectly showcases the problems with the decision. And if true could possibly alter the future of our country forever. This of course could be moot since Newt’s defeat of Obama is surely as farfetched as a man walking on the moon. Oh, that’s right, that already happened.
Even the possibilities [which in today’s world means almost anything] makes your decision, in light of the Gingrich Scenario too scary for words.

MSNBC BACKTRACKS ON ITS CONNECTION STORY BETWEEN MITT AND THE KKK...
So why aren’t I doing the same

Yesterday I had two entry's I discussed, one of which was the latest crazy moment of this Presidential campaign. This of course is the ‘supposed’ discovery that Mitt Romney has been using a KKK expression as a campaign slogan “Keep America American” I like many others [I presume] were concerned when the story started coming out. Oh no now what? So Mitt Romney's a closet KKK?
But now that MSNBC has come out to smack themselves for going with this, without ‘fully’ investigating the story. Did they ‘Rush to Judgement’ with Mitt on this? Or was it right for them to report yet another racist addition to the soup called Republican politics in the year 2011.
After reading about MSNBC’s apology I had to sit back and decide did I jump the gun. Now that I have become a ‘blogger’ and have put my thoughts, beliefs and opinions out there. Should I research what I send out? Was I doing what others have been doing? Had I become the bad guy here?
Hmm, I fully understand why they might feel the need to backtrack, after all FOX News tends to put out stories daily that they should, or have to re-track for doing what MSNBC thinks it might have done. But a story went out [personally, when I first read about it on my AP app, I researched. Checked to see what links Google had and discovered a ton of them about the connection. I then researched the KKK itself], and guess what, the expression is way big with them. Its basically their mantra. So the fact that Mitt Romney has or his handlers have decided to use a similar or in fact the same slogan is news. You mean to tell me they don’t have fact checkers? He is running for political office. A coincidence, perhaps, but sadly it just feels correct.
Without being a therapist, or not having the knowledge to understand people’s insides I can't say what other person’s beliefs are, causes us to subliminally sense something about them. But perhaps the reason it seems a vast majority of the people surveyed have in fact not given Mitt Romney a chance, that he comes off cold or forever reasons why we haven’t warned up to him. This might give off a semblance of truth
Of course, all of this could be nothing. But what if it is? Surely it’s a theory that should be looked into. Maybe it is something that needs to be reported. We’ve all learned the hard way that you can’t always trust politicians. That sometimes what they say and do doesn't exactly mesh. And in this crazy year, with the abundance of every racist derogatory message imaginable. Anything that even remotely sounds racist ‘is’ a news story. If the ‘Birthers’ are allowed to cover the airwaves with their bull. Then a possible connection with the KKK is at least warranted a mention. After ‘Niggertown’ and images of our President and First Lady imagined as apes, my tolerance level is very low things days.

MY DICK'S BIGGER THEN YOURS
Oh yeah!  Well I’m a better husband!

So now it’s come to this. The two biggest flip-floppers Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich in the campaign  (or is that in America), sending out verbal smacks at one another. Sounding more like school boys running for Class President, then two grown-ups running for the most powerful job in the world.
Surely neither man honestly thinks he’s in the same league as the President. That either could best Obama in the general election. Let alone a measly debate. Honestly does anyone out there truly believe that either one of these Bozo’s really has a chance to be President.
I will admit that they’ve both shown moments where you can see a real candidate, but (unfortunately for them) it is usually followed by statements and commentary that either unnerves most of us or worse. Like their stands on Abortion, the separation of church and state. Our economy, our ecology, and most every other issue. And don’t get me started on racism.
And as usual both of their agenda’s put the brunt of the problems onto the backs of the middle class and poor. Seemingly they change (at least on the surface) their opinions on things overnight. But when questioned on their decisions lie thru your teeth. You’re mistaken, I’ve never changed my opinion, ever. We are all just misinformed. Don’t believe the video or audiotape.

Pleasecheck out the link below.

OK, WHEN’S THE KITCHEN SINK BEING THROWN IN
Mitt Romney’s campaign slogan was used by the... KKK  What next, White Hoods?

I thought I had seen everything. A singing Pizza man and his 9-9-9’s. “Niggerland” and Perry’s “Oops” moments. Anything Rick Santorum or Michelle Bachman says. The Trump's running for President gag. But no, Mitt Romney had to top everything so far. Too bad Herman Cain dropped out, now boy that would be a fun debate.
Enter Romney’s latest blunder or possible biggest character flaw so far, he seems to have adapted an old KKK slogen as his campaigns theme. According to AmericaBlog, which noticed that a phrase Romney has been using the slogen, “Keep America American,” for over a year now, this slogen was a rallying cry of the Klan in the 1920s.
“There are people in this room who are informed and who care about this election, who recognize that this is a defining time for America,” he said. “We have on one side a president who wants to transform America into a European-style nation, and you have on other hand someone like myself that wants to turn around America and keep America American….” Mitt Romney
In today’s rather despicable racist campaign verbal games that many of the right-wing have been playing, its seems its okay for Republicans to accuse President Obama of being a socialist, being anti-American, even being illegal. Now Mitt Romney’s has added the KKK to the mix. And considering or the lies already thrown at our President, I am honestly offended he had the nerve to even go there
So Newt, I know now you’re gonna play nice, but come on. How can you not go after this. Here’s your chance to end the race before it’s official. Romney’s a Klan. Think of your new ad campaign.
And can you imagine the debate between President Obama and Mitt Romney now. Think its time to put on some Black Face and cut up a few slices of watermelon. Don’t you.  Mitt simply pathetic. I’m kind of surprised here, I didn’t know Mormon’s could also be members of the Klan.
So, is Mitt Romney a member of the KKK? Shouldn’t America be asking if Mitt Romney the question, is Mitt is a Klansman? Remember Mitt, what's good for the President... should be good enough for you. Get ready to be slammed.

STOP THE MADNESS, ENOUGH ALREADY
Grow the ‘F’ Up House Speaker John Boehner

Here we go again. House Speaker John Boehner, why even go to the trouble of putting a bill up when you know good and well it won’t pass. President Obama’s wish to extend the Payroll Tax Cuts for the middle class and the poor, with a simple practically painless tiny tax increase to the very wealthy without any ‘extra’s’ thrown in has been thrown the usual curve ball by Boehner and his sidekick Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. They did what Obama requested that they shouldn’t.
As usual by playing political games as opposed to being the leaders that voters hoped for, Congressional Republicans added a plan to link a fast-tracked approval of an oil pipeline to the measure renewing the middle class payroll tax cut.
Of course the Bopsy twins, John Boehner & Mitch McConnell as the two biggest talking heads in this latest attempt to disrupt government. Came out yesterday, December 12, and touting this plan, explaining his reasoning why our President should approve the bill with the additions added to it.
There is no reason this legislation shouldn’t have the president’s enthusiastic support,” McConnell said Monday on the Senate floor. “The only reason for Democrats to oppose this job-creating bill would be to gain some political advantage at a time when every one of them says job creation is a top priority.”
Well Mitch, there are numorous reasons why he will say no. Yes he’s opposed to this job-creating extra. But mainly its because the State Department, has authority over the project [because it crosses on an international border], a spokesperson for the State Department said last month it was delaying it’s decision on the pipeline until after next year’s election. Officials said the delay is needed to study routes that avoid environmentally sensitive areas of Nebraska. You know the environment, something you guys seems to want to ruin, for no good reason.
“Should Congress impose an arbitrary deadline for the permit decision, its actions would not only compromise the process, it would prohibit the department from acting consistently with National Environmental Policy Act requirements by not allowing sufficient time” for the project to be considered, the State Department said in a statement. In that case, “the department would be unable to make a determination to issue a permit for this project,” the statement added.
So you see as usual, their need to drill for oil is at the expense of our environment. Screw the regulations. And these jerk’s want to rid us of our environmental protections. Heck we don’t need clean air or water.
We all know that your bill will pass the House, the republican majority there is the only reason. But the Senate won’t pass it, and the President will veto it. So this is yet another waste of our valuable time. I may not be a genius, but a 12-year-old could understand the logic. And because of their usual games, millions of Americans are gonna have their taxes raised. Or have that fear. So Christmas might not be so merry for them after all, since they can’t spare any loose change. And forget the retail shops and last minute Christmas sales boom. Nice way to spur on the economy fellows. Another brilliant strategic move.
Enough already. This is not the first time John Boehner has gone in front of the cameras and touted his revolutionary legislations. Smiling with that Cheshire Cat grin of his and announcing that ‘our’ bill works magic and that no one will suffer because of it. Of course, on the other hand, hmmm, the rich will somehow get a tax break for allowing the ‘other’ Americans the privilege of getting a little extra spending money.
Of course we all know what that means. Since ‘we’ are allowing this great gift to the masses (the low life’s, drug dealers and whores, who comprise the vast majority of the 99ers’), we are gonna have to lessen or possibly delete entirely Social Security or food stamps. Or clean air, or... then of course spend the rest of our time, lieing thru our grins. Telling us that the vast majority of Americans are on our side. That ‘we’ the American people understand that the ‘job creators’ need the tax break, that’s the only way to grow the economy. We are giving them a gift.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) came out with a great statement on the so-called job creators:
Millionaire job creators are like unicorns,” he said, according to The Hill. “They are impossible to find and don’t exist.
Enough. The game is up. President Obama’s learning curve in dealing with your antics are over. The game is done. The only people that lose in this game are the American people, and your republican pals. Even if as you hope the Presidents’ Middle class tax break fails, your victory in this will ultimately be your defeat.
You see our country was born in revolution. For a need to be free. That all men are created equal (remember). And as we’ve been witnessing, the masses have begin to rise up. The 99ers’ are simply the beginning in this next revolution. And each time one of your spokespersons come out touting bogus and hurtful measures that only seem to favor the wealthy or powerful, another thousand protesters are born. And another chink in your armor is revealed.
The jigs up. The games over. The American people have awoken, and believe me, waking a sleeping giant isn’t such a good thing... for you and your brethren. But it's a great thing for the future of our country.

A GAFFE A MINUTE FOR THE 21ST CENTURY SHERIFF ANDY TAYLOR
And Mister Good Old Boy is flunking the test

My one question in all this is how did Rick Perry get elected in the first place. How ‘bad’ was his competition, that’s he’s actually been elected three times in Texas for Governor. Perhaps he reminded his fellow good old boys that he’s a Texan good old boy himself. That he drank Moonshine and had sex with the ladies (or the horses) in a hayloft. Or perhaps its simply ‘the Andy Griffin Syndrome.’ Thats right I submit for evidence your honor that right in front of us we’ve got a false prophet. The first Presidential candidate running on his Andy Griffith abilities. You’ve never heard AGS, or people living with AGS? Good, this mean’s that I’ve discovered Perry’s real or shall I write false facade (and I’ve also come up with a new way to milk millions out of the mentally confused). AGS really stems from people’s fascination with celebrity. That fascination while usually nothing more then a simple not missing an episode of your favorite sitcom to needing to get plastic surgery to appear to look like their idols. AGS an as on now unknown affliction (discovered by yours truly, while writing this) is usually associated with pseudo-celebrity wannabee’s. We’ve all seen them. The kids who dress up like Elvis, Michael Jackson, Madonna or Marilyn. All the Goth kids or the men who dress in drag, all share one thing in common, they all need to be someone else, or at least they like to pretend. And Rick Perry is the new poster child for this affliction.
Besides the obvious Marlboro Man get up, Rick Perry’s vibes have always felt false to me. Because of this, I’ve watched his candidacy with some interest. Is he (as I’ve read) a pseudo George Bush Jr. or is he even worse. I mean his policies seem to be even worse then Juniors’, but could anyone be as dumb as Junior. And if he is, could you imagine what destruction could occur under his watch. Perhaps the end of these United States. Well the guy did tout secession of Texas from the Union, imagine what he’d propose as President.
Why did his backers think he’d be up to the job. How blind or in this case deaf can people be. I mean Bush Jr., at least had the pedigree.  But Perry’s pedigree is ‘Niggerland’. But this Sheriff Andy Taylor wannabee, this Andy Griffith impostor can’t remember his lines, as opposed to the great star. One minute he doesn’t know what the legal voting age is, the next he doesn’t know the difference between a company and a country.
After Saturday’s presidential debate in Des Moines, Iowa, Rick Perry continued his string of memorable campaign gaffes.
“No greater example of it than this administration sending millions of dollars into the solar industry, and we lost that money,” Perry said. “I want to say it was over $500 million that went to the country Solynda.” Its as if his brain switched with his Deputy, Barney Fife (Don Knotts) and he’s stuttering for answers.
And my fear in this is that this good old boy might be more along the lines of Larry ‘Lonesome’ Rhodes, Andy Griffin’s memorable character in A Face in the Crowd. An Arkansas hobo who becomes an overnight sensation cause of his old boy charms. But once drunk with fame and power, gets exposed as a fraud and a hateful individual who underneath all there is is evil. Suckering all the fooled into believing his earnestness, his gumption, his racist and homophobic statements.  Riling up the masses. We all loved Andy Griffith, heck I wanted Opie to be my best friend and Sheriff Andy Taylor to be my dad. But I never pictured him as President. Did you? I mean we all wished we lived in Mayberry, but we don’t. We live in the real world, and sorry Republicans, in the real world we don’t need a sheriff to run our country. We need a real President. And luckily we a;ready have one thats doing the job.

MOVIE RECOMMENDATIONS
#1  Roman Polanski’s The Ghost Writer

I just watched Roman Polanski’s The Ghost Writer for at least the tenth time, and boy is it an extremely addicting motion picture. Released in 2010, and starring Ewan McGregor (who plays ghostwriter hired to complete the memoirs of former British prime minister (Pierce Brosnan), who uncovers secrets that put his own life in jeopardy. Also starring Olivia Williams, Kim Cattrall, and Tom Wilkinson, this suspenseful political thriller showcases all the reasons why Mr. Polanski is one of the best. His distinctive style which imbues everyone of his films is in full glory here as it showcases his mastery of the medium.
As in The Ninth Gate, another flick which I’ve watched countless times, The Ghost Writer is one of those movies which sucks you in almost immediately. Within a few frames its as if you can’t look away at the mystery which is being unfolded right in what of your eyes. As each successive sequence give you even more questions to ponder. Helped tremendously by a great musical score (another common trait in all Polanski’s movies) which pulls you in till the final frame. Instead of warning the viewer to know something bad is gonna happen, it instead responds to the event, helping build up the tension that much stronger.
All the actors give first rate performances, but as usual with Polanski’s best flicks the story and the script comes first. And this flick’s script is top notch. Beautifully meandering from one dramatic moment to the next. And without revealing anything, when you discover the truth at the end, wow, it’s worth every second spent. But what takes the film and makes it one of the best films in years is the finale.
Without giving anything away, (do not and I mean it do not look away at the end).  If you do, the ending of this great flick is completely different then what Roman Polanski intended. And boy what a stunning moment it is. He is a master storyteller at the top of his game. And this flick is one of his masterpieces. I highly recommend it.  In fact I might just have to watch it again...

QUOTES TO WIN A CAMPAIGN BY:
#7   At least one Republican running for President gets how our leaders reacted after the attack
“Think of what happened after 9/11, the minute before there was any assessment, there was glee in the administration because now we can invade Iraq, and so the war drums beat,” Paul told a gathering of students in Ames, Iowa, according to Politico. “That’s exactly what they’re doing now with Iran.”
GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul, long a harsh critic of the Bush Wars, launched his verbal attack against the Bush administration Thursday evenings on the issues of 9/11, terrorism and war.  Say what you want about Ron Paul’s candidacy, he’s the only one in a sea of Republicans who gets what the team of Bush and Chaney did during our country’s worst days. And the longer this drawn out horror comedy continues, he seems to be the only sane one in the bunch.

QUOTES TO LOSE A CAMPAIGN BY:
#6   HOMOPHOBIA IN THE 21st CENTURY
Boy can these fools get any worse?

Todays quotes are actually about three of the losers running for the title of second place in next year’s election. Plus another Republican showcasing us how backward and bigoted these people are. Both Rick’s, Perry and Santorum came out swinging against President Obama’s agenda. Rick Perry in his latest ad attacks gay service members and what he claims is Obama’s war on religion.” While the other Rick, attacked Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on their gay agenda. I added an older quote for the totally bigoted Michele Bachmann, which sounds like something Abbott and Costello would say. Perhaps one day we will discover if one or all of their brains has a name, and it’s called ‘Abby... Normal.’

  1)   Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry in a new ad which is airing in Iowa, pledges to end “Obama’s war on religion” he’s against gays and lesbians in the military living opening, and complains about prayer in public schools not being allowed. Rick Perry says:
“I’m not ashamed to admit I’m a Christian,” says Perry. “But you don’t need to be in the pews every Sunday to know that there’s something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can’t openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school.” and also “As president, I’ll end Obama’s war on religion and I’ll fight against liberal attacks on our religious heritage,” he continues. “Faith made America strong. It can make her strong again.
Perry there's a big difference between pushing your views on someone, which is why Christmas and prayer isn't allowed in schools. And obviously being a bigot fool when it comes to make Gay people less then human.

 2)   Then after Secretary of State Clinton’s powerful speech on Gay Rights throughout the world, Rick Santorum, accused Obama of tying ‘Gay Lifestyles’ to foreign aid. Rick Santorum says:
I would suggest that we give out humanitarian aid based on humanitarian need, not based on whether people are promoting their particular agenda. Obviously the administration is promoting their particular agenda in this country, and now they feel its their obligation to promote those values not just in the military, not just in our society, but now around the world with taxpayer dollars...He said he’s for traditional marriage, and now he’s promoting gay lifestyles and gay rights, and he’s fighting against traditional marriage within the courts, and I think he needs to be honest.”
That right buddy, if you want to deal with us, if you want our help, if you need our money, you have to abide by basic human decency. If you don't you're no better then White Supremacist.

 3)  Michele Bachmann told a group of supporters in Waverly, Iowa that gay and lesbian
people should have “no special rights” to marry people of the same sex, insisting that “the laws are you marry a person of the opposite sex.” Iowa actually began allowing same-sex couples to marry in 2009. In a conversation with  High School student Jane Schmidt attended Michelle Bachmann's town hall in Iowa on Wednesday and challenged the politician's position on same-sex marriage. This is a portion of the interview:
JANE SCHMIDT:JThen, why can’t same-sex couples get married?
BACHMANN: They can get married, but they abide by the same law as everyone else. They can marry a man if they’re a woman. Or they can marry a woman if they’re a man. [...]
JANE SCHMIDT: So you won’t support the LGBT community?
BACHMANN: No, I said that there are no special rights for people based upon your sex practices. There’s no special rights based upon what you do in your sex life. You’re an American citizen first and foremost and that’s it.
ELLA NEWELL, added a junior at Waverly High School: Wouldn’t heterosexual couples, if they were given a privilege then, that gay couples aren’t, like given that privilege to get married, but heterosexual couples are given a privilege to get married?
BACHMANN: Remember every American citizen has the right to avail themselves to marriage but they have to follow what the laws are. And the laws are you marry a person of the opposite sex.

Brings me back to Abbott and Costello's great bit 'Whose on First.' In this case: Whose the Bigger Ass.

Simply amazing how these bigots fools don’t see the difference between people’s agenda’s and what’s legally and/or morally correct. That gay people can’t control their urges.  If they want our financial aid they have to follow the rules. Its the 21st Century folks... it states clearly in our Constitution that ‘All Man were created Equal.’ Get over your personal view points. Remeber we are all human, we all make mistakes. What if your viewpoint turns out to be wrong. What happens when get to the Pearly Gates and they tell you sorry, because of your heartless, bigoted, racist ways, you will spend eternity suffering for your sins. Just think about it. And yes, the Earth orbits around the Sun, not the other way around. If you don’t want to follow the laws of our Country... you can just leave. Go to one of those Third-World where you basically are at the whim of the people in charge. Bye. Bye.

HOUSE REPUBLICANS WANT TO HAVE
REGULATION AUTHORITY
Yes, let’s give even more power to the
ANTI-Regulators
Simply put... not on your life. Since President Obama came into office, and regulations were put into place to fix all the mess that these de-regulators created, all we’ve heard from the Republicans is how all these Regulations are ruining our economy. Which of course is a lie. All economic indicators have shown that the regulations put in place have actually helped our economy.
Now these Anti-Regulators want the power to decide on regulations, really, and if they get it we will have another game of shall we approve or not. Basically under this NEW bogus bill, sponsored by the republicans, if Congress doesn’t approve a major rule within 70 session days, the rule would not take effect. In other words, they will have the power to kill as many regulations as they wish. Killing all the safe guards that are in place. Not a very good idea. Cause we all know what would happen if this occurs, another financial disaster.
The good news is, spokesperson’s for The White House have announced that the President would probably veto this.

QUOTES TO LOSE A CAMPAIGN BY:
#5   Rick Santorum, please smack yourself.
"I reject that number completely, that people die in America because of lack of health insurance. People die in America because people die in America. And people make poor decisions with respect to their health and their healthcare," he said. "And they don't go to the emergency room or they don't go to the doctor when they need to. And it's not the fault of the government for not providing some sort of universal benefit."
Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum how heartless can one person me. The reason people don’t visit hospitals or emergency rooms isn’t because they don’t want to. It's because they can’t afford healthcare or the medical bills they would accumulate if they went. Personally as a freelancer and one of those creative types I have sometimes gone without medical insurance and I have pay the price.
The basic question for millions of people in our country is: Should I pay for food, rent and all the other expenses that it costs in our modern society, or should I pay for medical insurance. Should I chance it, that I won’t get sick or be in an accident. What are the odds? I mean, I never get sick, I’ve never been in an accident... I’m safe.
Unfortunately my history with this gamble hasn’t been good. Personally it seems the only times I have been very sick, needing medical attention or have gotten into an accident have been the times I wasn’t getting (via employment) or paying for health insurance (personally). I’ve discovered afterwards, why having insurance is very important. Receiving a $25,0000 medical bill for a broken bone in my index finger, while having less then $100 in my savings account with no clear logical legal way to pay the bill is quite a scary and an unpleasant feeling. Having to deal with debt collectors and obnoxious harassing phone calls makes the healing process a lot less fun. Not being able to rent an apartment because my credit rating sucks, even though I’ve paid off all my debts is really obnoxious.
The Affordable Care Act, passed by Congress and signed into law by the President in March 2010, is one of President Obama’s biggest achievements as President. But, before it even had the chance to showcase what it could do, the republicans dubbed it Obamacare, as if its an insult to want to help millions of Americans to live better lives. Demonizing it as if its bad for people to be able to receive medical care. That the elderly should starve if they wish to stay alive or worse. It took him a while, but President Obama finally has a comeback for Republicans who derisively refer to his 2009 health-care law as “Obamacare.”
They call it Obamacare. I do care, that’s right. (Applause.) The question is, why don’t you care? The question is, why don’t you care? You should care, too. Some of these folks [are] making central to their campaign pledge to make sure that 30 million people don’t have health insurance. What kind of inspiring message is that? (Laughter) "Get it republicans, your job is supposed to be to make our citizens lives better. Not worse.”President Obama used the in again in Minnesota but added“If the other side wants to be the folks that don’t care, that’s fine with me. I do care.
I couldn’t have said it better.

TODAY'S BREATHER
AVENGERS ORIGINS: VISION ONE-SHOT
Yes I purchased a comic book. I know,
when will I ever grow up...

I know this  is ‘supposed’ to be my ‘political’ blog, it’s also a blog about my opinion on items that irk, rile, anger and simply bug me. But sometimes you need to escape, sometimes you need a little levity.  I mean how much Cain and Newt can one person take. So here’s a little pop culture. The other day I purchased a comic book and I am happy to report I had a really enjoyable time.
In the years since my obsession with comics ended, the amount of books I’ve purchased have been few and far between. I follow the genre, mostly thru the Internet. I drop by Jim Henley’s or Forbidden Planet, but mostly for nostalgia purposes, and to check out the comic statues (which are a lot better now then when I was a kid). And now that Marvel has shown Hollywood have to make real films out of their characters, it’ll keep me involved till who knows what’s next. But buying a comic book for $3.99 or more, very rarely.  I’m still getting over when the cover price went up to a 35¢.
That said, I did buy a comic book and gosh O’mighty I really liked it. I picked up Marvel Comic’s AVENGERS ORIGINS: VISION ONE-SHOT #1. And thoroughly enjoyed looking back at one of my favorite characters. This ‘new’ retelling of Roy Thomas’ and John Buscema’s classic creation,  is beautifully written and visualized in today’s more illustrative style. While the original issues are stilled fused into my brain cells, I was surprisingly pleased with this retelling. Easily taking me back to the glory days of Marvel and why I loved them so much as a kid.
In the late 1960’s Marvel Comics transformed the medium. Every book seemed to get better with each succeeding issue. The original twelve monthly titles that were published by The House of Ideas, had helped the medium’s resurgence. I know that DC Comics began the comics resurgence with their retelling of The Flash, but it was the genius of Stan Lee and his talented core of artists which helped the Marvel take over the genre. And when Roy Thomas arrived he helped Marvel’s Comics grow into much richer and more realistic characters, transforming a child’s reading material into a more adult medium. One of his characters, an android, a ‘synthezoid’ possibly had more humanity then all the so-called human superheroes combined.
The Vision whose debut occurred in The Avengers #57 (Oct. 1968), forever cemented my feelings for the Marvel Comic Book.
Years later I still keep up with the characters, mostly by seeing items on the Internet. It’s been interesting watching the evolution of the genre especially in recent years. How different the medium and the audience has become.
But with each new generation of talents that replace the old standard bearers, a new generation of heroes or shall we say different versions of classic heroes have altered the heroes of my youth. The best attempts like Captain America’s revitalization helped make a tired character into what can now be considered one the best in the industry. To sad tricks like ending Spiderman’s marriage to Mary Jane which did nothing but alienate the readers.
That said, watching what the talents at Marvel have done to The Vision could be considered a crime. Taking an amazing concept and practically throwing it away.
Personally none of the talents associated with this tale was familiar to me (except for cover artist Marko Djurdjevic). So it was really enjoyable to discover a refreshing take on tale that began a half century ago, told by the talents of today. The issue written by Kyle Higgins & Alec Siegel, with art by (interior) Stephane Perger truly demonstrate their love of the character, and their talents in the medium. And truly showcase why The Vision was and is an amazing character that should be around today. Exceptional work, and highly recommended.

NEIL-NEIN-NEIN -
I AM NOT THE NEXT PRESIDENT
Shout it from the rooftops, we’ve been saved from the possibilities of a pizza man in the White House. Phew!
Herman Cain announced yesterday that NO, he was not continuing his campaign. YES. Well, at least he left with some dignity. I was beginning to think the worst of him. Of course having his wife stand there was pretty a slimy thing for such a great husband to do. So now you will as so many past candidates have done when they quit their contest, try to put a good spin on your exit. You announced the launch of TheCainSolutions.com to prove your point. Now you can help the country in ways you couldn’t do as President. Aren’t we lucky you couldn’t control your Johnson. Another holy preacher who got caught with his hands in the cookie jar. Seems to be the same old story, the ones spouting off their righteous views always turn out to be less then perfect. Ye who cast the first stone... make pizzas?

DONALD TRUMP THE KING MAKER -
HOW? WHY? HUH?
Whose the idiot who thought this was a good idea.
So now Trump thinks he the King Maker. Someone please explain how The Donald has now become the standard-bearer for ‘The Republican Party’.
First he makes a mockery of being a candidate. Turning into the worst form of school yard bully. Throwing out allergations, and spewing out filth. And now, ION, some small who knows what cable channel has annointed him the honor of moderating a debate. And better yet, Donald also announced that afterwards on national television he’s gonna give his blessings to the candidate of his choice. ‘Your Hired’ republican candidate. Talk about Reality TV.
And they said this years’ campaign couldn’t get crazier.
Perhaps during the debate he puts each candidate in a sound proof box, and then asks the secret question. Ta Da. Perhaps we could have a swim suit contest thrown in as well. Screw the reality, we want ratings.
What if at the end of the debate, Trump announces that none of the candidates deserve the nomination. ‘Your Fired’ That none could possibly beat President Obama. So, Ta Da, I’m nominating myself. Talk about free advertising. Talk about your perfect entry into the race. Trump for President. Can we say landslide, and I’m not thinking Trump will win.

QUOTES TO LOSE A CAMPAIGN BY:
#4   Advertising how stupid you are
“You know we’ve all lost our train of thought before, but not many have done it  on national TV. If you want a slick debater I’m obviously not your guy...”
How do I say this nicely, obviously you’re not my guy. For some reason when I think the Presidency, I think a person with intelligence. I think, a person who has knowledge on global topics. Someone with a keen mind to deal with the thousands of things that this person has to, day in and day out. He or she should at least know the voting age. Just because you look good shouldn’t excuse you from being a dummy. Honestly Perry, do you actually think you are up to the job... not a trick question.

WHY A CANDIDATE’S PERSONAL LIFE
AND SCANDALS SHOULDN’T KICK HIM OUT OF THE RACE
His lack of knowledge on the issues should

It’s been almost a month since the first whiff of scandal began hitting Cain’s fan. The media erupted with the scandalous allegations. The usual talking heads touted their beliefs that this was the nail on Herman’s coffin. Instead he came out swinging. How dare these ingrates. Everyone is out to get Herman Cain. Especially the Democrats and President Obama. The smell of paranoia was strong in the air. And as each accuser came out, each story juicer, it seemed his chances of occupying the White House got smaller. Now a thirteen year affair. Yowza. What next?
Of course who knows what the truth is. And yes until proven otherwise, we should take all of these allegations with a grain of salt and then wait till anything is proven to be real. Even if we discover all of these complaints are true, none of these situations should cause Herman Cain’s withdrawal from the race. Historically Presidents haven’t all been saints. Some have quite a few skeletons in their closets. But to disavow a potential nominee because of his personal demons isn’t part of the electoral decision. None of which has anything to do with a candidates abilities, or if they are mentally equipped for the position.
The worse thing in this was all the B.S. attached to this current scandals has stopped people’s learning about the real facts behind the plans that Mr. Cain’s proposes. Just when the truth was being told, the fact that his plans actually make things worse was being discovered by the masses; these scandals have stopped his unravelling. At least for now.
This year’s crop of would be President’s are shockingly not up to the job. Historically there is always at least one person in the menagerie that at appears up to the challenge. Each and everyone of these would-be Presidents have too many questions about their qualifications. None of which has anything to do what they do outside public office.
As a life-long democrat and a person whose used to not being on the side of victory when it comes to his choices for President. I can count two that I voted for who won, Clinton twice and Obama. Sadly I can’t count Gore and I missed out on Carter’s first campaign, too young. So I’m used to defeat. But given this years crop of would be candidates it’s becoming clearer and more obvious that unless something unforeseen happens President Obama will be reelected.
Just because Herman might have had a few (or many) dalliances with the ladies shouldn’t end his run. His lack of qualifications should.
